MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine junior golfers showed their shotmaking skills to win in their respective age brackets championships in the recently concluded Guam second BMW Guam Junior Golf League.

With more representatives from last year’s inaugural tournament, the Phl boys and girls teams surpassed last year’s winning tally and overall showing despite strong competition from the other countries.

The national team won championships in three categories – girls 15-18, girls 13-14 and boys 9-10. They also placed second in two divisions - girls 15-18 and girls 11-12, as well as a third place finish in girls 15-18.

The rest of the team placed in the Top 10 in their respective divisions against other junior golfers (ages 9-18) from host Guam, China, Japan, Korea, Australia and the US.

Arieanne Salvador ruled the girls 15-18, Chanelle Avaricio led the girls 13-14 and Aidric Chan won in the boys 9-10 title. Samantha Martirez, who placed second (thru playoff) in girls 11-12, was given the very first Integrity Award for her honesty and professionalism.

Other members of the delegation were Jean and Johanna Magsino (girls 15-18), Harmie Constantino (girls 9-10), Juan Jorge Catalan (boys 15-18), Justin Magsino, Ezekiel Serapio and Karl-Richard Dela Torre (boys 9-10).

Aside from the return tickets that the winners have received to defend their trophies and the new international friends the junior golfers gained, the entire delegation headed by Hebert Magsino, Jorge Catalan Jr., Richard Dela Torre and David Serapio was accorded full support and hospitality by Guam Junior Golf League organizers.
