Filipina teenager, Lou Daniella Uy, emerged as the World Champion in the Girls 15-17 age group at the 2014 edition of the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships. Dandan Uy finished her 4th and final round at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, CA with a 4 under par 68 (8 under par after 3 days of play) to set her up for a playoff with Chinese Ziyi Wang.
With the pressure on, Uy shined through as the champion and made Filipinos proud being the Philippines' first homegrown world champion in the 15-17 years old division since Jennifer Rosales won the same title in 1996.
Held annually in San Diego since 1968, the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships is the premier arena where junior golfers exhibit their skills in competition and where college coaches from across the US recruit young talents.
