Remembering San Diego 2008

One thousand and twenty eight contestants. More than fifty countries represented. Forty-one junior golfers comprising the contingent from the Philippines. Loads of parents, grandparents, and relatives.

This was the scene at the weekend registration of participants to the 2008 Callaway Junior World Golf Championships. The 40 year old competition has drawn junior golfers to San Diego, CA year after year since 1968 producing so many golf greats including Eldrick "Tiger" Woods and current lady golfer superstar, Lorena Ochoa.

It numbs the mind to actually think that the future golf superstars are in the lot of the 1,028 contestants. Raw talent waiting to be discovered.

We are glad to have made it this far to bring honor to our national colors.
